With rumors swirling that New York Jets quarterback Rodgers is considering his future, one player on the team with whom he has been in contact appears to have no interest in having the 41-year-old as a teammate.
Rumors have suggested that Rodgers’ move away from the Jets is due to Rodgers’ poor 2024 season not meeting expectations.
As a result, there have been numerous rumors that the team could be interested in the former MVP’s services.
But a player on one of those teams – the Pittsburgh Steelers – appears to have indicated that he doesn’t want Rodgers as a teammate.
In a comment left under an Instagram post suggesting the Steelers might be interested in Rodgers, Steelers safety Deshon Ellisot commented, ‘Leave him in the nursing home.’

The Steelers have both Justin Fields (L) and Russell Wilson (R) at quarterback in 2024
He’s eighth in the league in rushing yards, but has just 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions as the Jets are just 5-12.
With uncertainty over his future — and a regime change at Florham Park — the Jets could look to move past the aging Rodgers.
Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz reported Friday that the team is close to getting rid of their Super Bowl-winning quarterback. And Schultz isn’t the only one reporting Rodgers’ impending departure. Fox’s Jay Glazer later added that Rodgers flew back to New Jersey last week for a team meeting, only to be told they planned to move forward without him.
If Green decides to replace Rodgers by cutting his contract, he will still have to pay $49 million in dead cap space — which would limit the power of new Jets GM Darren Mougey in free agency.

The Steelers relied on both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields at various points last season.
But neither seemed to make the impact ріtѕburgh really wanted. While the Steelers made it to the playoffs, they were eliminated early.
