Life on the streets is brutal for homeless animals, as they suffer from hunger, lack of shelter, and clean water, and danger from incoming traffic as they roam the streets in search of food.

It is a harsh and unyielding reality, with stray animals running rampant in ɱaпy parts of the world. While it may not be feasible to house them all, organizations like Animal Help do their utmost to assist as ɱaпy animals as possible.

Animal Help was contacted about a canine suffering from severe ɱaпge. Though ɱaпge is usually difficult to treat, her case was so extensive that she had lost all her fur, leaving her vulnerable to secondary skin infections, parasites, and potentially fatal sunburn. Volunteers from Animal Help were dispatched to aid the dog, who welcomed their treats but was hesitant to be picked up and taken away.

The dog was not simply wary of huɱaпs, she had good reason to stay on the streets: she was a new mother and her babies relied on her. After much coaxing and ɱaпy more treats, the volunteers were finally able to get close enough to pick up the mother and her puppies. Now it was ᴛι̇ɱe to find the other dog, Coco.

One of the mother’s puppies appeared to be fine, but Coco was in terrible shape. She too was suffering from ɱaпge, and her eyes looked anything but healthy. She seemed weak and bewildered. The volunteers picked up the little dog and brought her over to her mother. Both dogs were taken to the rescue center together.

The mother was placed on the examination table, her poor frame riddled with ɱaпge. She required topical antibiotic ointment and regular medicated baths. With diligent care and a proper diet, the medical team hoped she would make a full recovery. The mother was scared, but the team did their best to soothe her.

Coco was next in line for examination. The little puppy was tired and underweight. The medical team provided Coco with reassurance and love, before treating her skin with topical ointment. She too would require daily medicated baths. Fortunately, mother and puppy could stay at the rescue facility together until they recovered.
